Hi Everyone! I am a 60 YO Male living in Redmond, WA and have been on Dialysis for the past 5 years. My kidney failure came about after I had a major heart attack and my heart stopped for 4 1/2 minutes, unbeknown to me, I guess my kidney was already in bad condition and all it took to fail is those few minutes of no blood circulation. Since February 2015 I started Dialysis, first at the hospital which I was in after a triple bypass for 1 full year.
I lost my wife in 2012 after less than 1-year fight with brain cancer. Leaving me a precious daughter who is now 25 years old and working as a teacher.
And after leaving the hospital and until now I have been doing my dialysis at a Dialysis Center. lately and up to a few months ago, I started skipping dialysis as well as shortening some of my treatments to 2 1/2 hours instead of 4 hours, which lead me to a few hospital trips due to high Potassium levels which had put my heart into the danger of heart attacks! Those hospital trips finally sank in me, and more important my daughter who had made sure that I always go to my dialysis appointments and making sure that I stay all full 4 hours treatments.
Now and starting in October 2019, I have not skipped even once my dialysis and did not short any of my dialysis treatments and have been always staying the full 4 hours treatments!
I can not describe enough how, going to dialysis and getting full treatments, have made in my life! When I was skipping I was always tired and fatigued, I some days was sleeping 12 hours and more per day! And feeling depressed and having anxiety.
Now, that I am religiously going to my treatments, I am feeling very energetic like I have never been, happier, and without any depression or anxiety and on top of that being able to work full time as I am still working, as I enjoy working. I am a Sales Vice President and consultant to many companies.
Finally, my advise if you are on Dialysis do not skip your Dialysis treatments and do not shorten your treatments which would make you live happier, full of energy and happy.
I would love to hear from you so please write to me.
