Does anyone know if you are not qualified for a kidney transplant if you have a pacemaker for sick sinus syndrome?

Are you able to get on the kidney transplant list if you have a pacemaker?
I have a pacemaker for that condition. That would not necessarily rule me/you out. My only restriction is "no MRI's." That's because the pacemaker leads could be ripped from the heart. However, I am 80 years old. I believe there may be an "unwritten rule" that 80 is too old for a transplant, but you are only 68! P.S. I am amazed at the number of physicians who are trained in India, then immigrate to the USA to practice. Any resentment in India over this fact?
I am 76. I have a pacemaker. I am on dialysis. I have completed transplant evaluations. Having a pacemaker was never an issue. Depending on the pacemaker manufacturer you can have an MRI; they just go to the MRI location with you and deactivate during the procedure.
Every hospital has different criteria for transplantation. Some do have age restrictions. Some do not have age restrictions as long as you are generally healthy. After you apply they will let you know right away if your 80 is ok! Best of wishes!
