Has anyone experienced drastic hair loss (shedding in the shower, breakage when combing), especially since switching from PD to hemodialysis?

I have only been on hemodialysis (almost 3.5 years now). My hair at 54 is thick and I have a full beard. After about a year of dialysis large amounts of hair were coming off me in the shower, nearly blocking the drain. I still have a lot of hair but it freaks me out every time I shampoo my hair to see the amount I am still losing. Battle scars from fighting CKD.

My husband has been on hemodialysis for almost 3 years, he is 81 now and still fit and healthy apart from his kidneys. His hair is thinner that it was but he has accepted that as part of the aging process.
