CkD 2 27 update

Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of me so far. I saw a Nephrologist and he said looking at my numbers he isn't sure why there is a mild impairment and he said it is mostly noted on the right kidney. This was my third protein test and according to the Nephrologist it came up negative for protein. He said all my other markers are normal and kidneys a normal size. He said what I'm doing is great and to continue to maintain my lifestyle habits. He suspects severe dehydration. He said he isn't worried about progression and says I'm at very low risk of getting worse but he still wants to be sure which I can respect.

Should I consider pushing for a kidney biopsy to learn what caused the CKD? There is risk but I wanted to get other people's opinions?

Personally, I wouldn't push it unless the drs found something in the other tests or scans. In my case a cyst was found and they did one .... it wasn't cancer.

Agree with the others. No...a biopsy requires extracting kidney tissue and is only done when absolutely necessary. Dehydration is suspected...keep that in mind. And, yes, go and enjoy your life.
