Update about my CKD

Hello! I wanted to give you an update on my health after seeing my nephrologist. Some nephritis seems to have attacked me a few years ago and left me with some problems resulting in signs of being in stage 3 kidney failure. He advised me to lose weight, to have a plant-based diet, to be careful not to get diabetes and hypertension and in a little while to have a kidney scan and blood tests again. He gave me courage to try to improve my health and that everything will be fine if I follow it. I wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to comfort me and take the time to write me some encouraging things. I really thank you very much and I hope that everything goes very well for you on all levels!

Hang on to this Nephrologist!!! I was told by every medic not to alter diet. When I asked about going plant based, I was told not to Google things and I should be eating more animal proteins. Also told don't bother losing weight, it won't make any difference. Let's just put you on high dose steroids and add three stone. I am now on dialysis after a 6 year battle. If I had my time over again I would be following your doctors protocol. You have got this. Make those changes today. Believe me it will be worth it. All the best

Hi there: I am 76,stage 4.I went on a semi plant based diet 3 months ago.I eat only chicken twice a week and fish once a week with lots of veggies especially salads. Had my labs done this week and my number were better. I have also lost weight and feel much better.Good luck on your journey and know you are not alone we are all with you.

Thank you so much.To be honest I am thinking of taking another opinion fro a nephrologist to be sure that what I do is appropriate for my condition.
