Question about the Dexcom 7 or maybe 6

I've been using the Dexcom 7 now for about 3 months. I've been noticing that a lot of the time when I do a finger stick it's not close at all to what the Dexcom says it is. I know that they aren't measuring the same thing, but should they be 40 or more points off? I'm using my iPhone instead of the receiver that comes with the 7. Any help would be appreciated.

My G7 was like that at first. Have you tried calibrating it? I had to calibrate it a couple of times and now it is usually within 10 or so points of my glucomter.

Thanks, yes, I've calibrated it a couple of times. It still seems off a lot. I guess I should check more often.

That's odd. My hubby's G7 readings are close to his finger pricks. It can be off though for several hours (5 or 6), when he changes out his old disk for a new one.

I guess I will check on it more often. Maybe I just pick the wrong time. I just checked and it was 25pt higher than my finger stick.

OK another question.... I'm on an Apple phone. Do you think that might be what the difference is? How are you tracking yours? and on what?
