egfr / creatinine rapid drop

i have had ckd stage 3a for 5 years. always been fairly stable. last sat went in for kidney labs after 5 months in which i had covid and took paxlovid and seem to have recovered. however, my egfr went from 50 to 40 in that period. this week i developed a low grade fever and lower abdominal discomfort so went to see my pcp on fri . she did another battery of tests including basic metabolic panel and my egfr had dropped to 36 w/ creatinine 1.98. since these tests were done fri. the results came out over the weekend.so have not been able to talk w/ pcp or nephrologist yet. i would be interested if anyone has had such drops in so short a time ? i'd love to hear from you again more anxiety.

Yes. Egfr up and down last year, from 55/Jan. '22 to 84/April; 71/Jun; 63/Jul; 81/Dec. With low egfr, bp/HR abnormal, GI discomfort. However, no covid. I wear mask everywhere I go, no matter if mandate or not. Just trying to avoid any need for extra med.

Are you staying well hydrated before/after labs? One NKF ambassador has encouraged ample hydration prior. I have recently followed this advice with better egfr outcome.

Hope your outcome improve. Let us know...🙏🤞
