Hi. Now at stage 5 gfr 13%. Am experiencing persistent dry cough and vomitting now and then that driving me crazy. Recently had flu and Covid booster together under Midazolam sedation and then a day or so later had high temp and vomitting. Taking gaviscon for what is being diagnosed as reflux. Also got problems empty bowels so taking Laxidol. Anyone know if these drugs are safe with a 13% gfr? Anyone had similar problems after having vaccines?

This is something your doctor should be made aware of. The vomiting especially. I had the vaccines and I am the same stage you are and had no reaction other than a sore arm. I have no idea about the other drugs. Definitely call the doctor.

Not with vaccines but with that particular sedation. I had breast lumps removed last Spring, and the sedative made me really sick for several days.

Make sure you don't get dehydrated and let your Neph know what's going on.

Hope you feel better soon.

What reaction medicines have on your body, depends on various factors which are unique.

You need to listen to your body's reactions carefully, take actions to try and resolve them and share with your nephrologist, dietician, do research on trusted sites and then decide.

See Kidney Care by Paramjit on Amazon for these steps.

But the decision is yours.
