just noticed this recently, sorry if this is a TMI ?. I just had renal labs done & everything is in a normal range. My eGFR IS 54 & creatinine is 1.1. So I am Stage 3a. My nephrologist said I could return with new labs drawn in a year. I think a year is too long to wait to return. I am 70 y/o female. I have read that many people have stayed in stage 3 for several years. I am mainly a plant based eater, but not 100%.

stinky urine & other ?

We can't diagnose you on this forum; you should consult with your doctor to address your concern. I know that for myself it usually means that I am dehydrated but it can also be a sign of infection for instance.
For that purpose, the doctor gave me those urine test strip. I was told what to look for. They are not particularly precise but they reassure me as I believe that they add an extra layer of safety. Not a self-diagnosis tool, I would still check with my medical team if I don't feel right.
Agree you should talk to your doctor but in the meantime, I would suggest you keep a food diary and a "smell" scale to go with it. It could be what you are eating as you're eating mostly plant-based food.
I'm sorry I don't understand how your comment title relates to the rest of your post?
strong smelling urine can come from eating asparagus which has some chemical in it that causes it
I recently had this issue. It was a bad uti, caught just before it became a kidney infection. Never hurts to check. My only symptoms were the smell and urgency. Im late stage 4, but stable.
