HERE IS THE SITE I READ WITH MAYO CLINIC , AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE, NEW TO ALL OF THIS ...................mayoclinic.org/tests-proced...
I think this link only indicates <60 is CKD rather than >60 is not CKD if you get my drift. This link makes it clearer by further qualifying the level of CKD kidney.org/atoz/content/gfr
A lot of it has to do with age. From the age of 45, you lose 1% of kidney function each year and if you are taking NSAIDS for instance, that will cause it to go even lower. So age, diet, BP, and medications can all affect your readings.
The equation used to determine the number was updated. It used to be broken down by white vs African American. Now there is no differentiation. The first equation is >60 and the new is >90. That’s a big difference. I would imagine that many more people now are classified with kidney disease. Seems strange doesn’t it?
mayo also told me that the 150 mg of protein in my urine was normal. No it is not.
Gah. These drive me nuts. For the first time in years, I made it over 60 (62!) only to find the goal post had been moved further afield to 90. Well screw that! I’m still happy 🤣
