Hi,

Recently, i was diagnosed that my left kidney is getting smaller and creatinine is borderline. And today i got the result of my GFR. Is 78.68 total gfr okay for my age? I'm 41, female. I have diabetes and hypertension and my left kidney is only working 20% according to my GFR result.

Thank you in advance.

An eGFR of 78 is pretty good. My suggestion would be to make sure your diabetes and HBP is under control, try to mostly control it by diet and exercise with as little meds as possible. Get on top of the situation now before it gets worse.

Thank you for your response. I have an appt on sat with my nephrologist. Somehow my anxiety is eating me. ☹️

I am just worried cause my left kidney function only 20% as per my in vitro gfr result. I am getting a little nervous about what will my nephrologist will say on my appt.
