In six weeks my egfr has dropped from 58 to 46 then to 40
I've gone from stage3a to stage3b . Is this normal. I'm being tested again in 4 weeks time. Meanwhile I'm reducing salt in my diet and watching my weight4

What meds are you on for slowing the progression?
Firstly don't panic and wait for the results of the next blood test at this stage make sure your well hydrated and if you need too you'll be referred to a Nephrologist perhaps you'll get a CT scan and biopsy but at the moment its a wait and see approach. I think your GP will guide you and also avoid low salt salt its worse than normal salt. You can get some good advice from the Kidney Patients Association and avoid Dr Google. Try not to worry and I've been stage 5 now 4 for past 4 years with no real problems.
You do not mention hydration. I find that if I am not well-hydrated, my egfr tends to be higher.
