Uncomplicating Diabetes: What To Know About Your Kidneys

December 14 at 5:30pm EST

Many people with diabetes live with a fear of developing health complications. Kidney disease is one of the most common but least talked about. The reality is that one in three people with diabetes has chronic kidney disease and faces the possibility of dialysis. But kidney disease is not inevitable, and with early diagnosis, new treatments and approaches can slow its progression and keep your kidneys functioning. This panel will teach you about kidney disease and how to detect it, and give you the tools to work with your healthcare team and take control of your kidney health.

Panel discussion with Q&A from 5:30-6:45pm EST / 2:30-3:45pm PST, with Community Networking and Expo Booths open beginning 15 minutes prior. Stay on following the panel from 6:45-7:15pm EST / 3:45-4:15pm PST for more Community Networking and Expo Booths.

Featured on the panel are Dr. Rachele Berria, AstraZeneca; Jane DeMeis, Patient Advocate; Dr. James R. Gavin III, Emory University School of Medicine; Dr. Joseph A. Vassalotti, National Kidney Foundation. The panel will be moderated by David Lee Strasberg, The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
