LOW BLOOD PRESSURE DURING DIALYSIS

My husband had a stroke 7 months ago. He suffers from kidney failure. The hospital won't discharge him bc his BP drops during dialysis and needs meds to keep up the BP. Any advice on what to do?

So sorry to hear about this. I think you should run this through his doctor. He would be the one to advise you. God bless you and praying for a good outcome 🙏🏾

We are not medical experts on this site, but can only speak from our own experiences. You should discuss this with his doctor. Low BP during dialysis could mean they are trying to get too much fluid off him at once or something more serious. His doctor needs to be the one to resolve this issue.

Fluid removal too much or too fast.

A fairly common side effect of running treatment too fast and attempting too much fluid removal can often cause low bp. Doctor may want to stop challenging fluid removal and slow down the bloodflow. Midodrine is often used for those with chronic low bp. Having an open discussion with his doctor is paramount for now. Blessings
