Was so happy to get my latest lab results from yesterday that shows that I'm testing out better than the last two months of lab results. GFR went from 24 [2 months ago] to 31 yesterday [30 last month] and Creatininine 1.43 down from 1.69 two months ago. I'm not sure what to attribute these changes to; however, I have lost 5 lbs, have eaten no red meat or animal protein other than a few small portions of seafood, and have tried to stick with meals of mostly vegetables. All my numbers are in the normal range so there's little restrictions on the vegetables, but I have been careful nonetheless. I even suffered a serious bout of strep throat and had several trials of antibiotics and steroids during this two month period. Keeping my fingers crossed and praying that these trends continue.

Congratulations. Keep doing what you are doing. Don't get discouraged if the numbers go in the other direction. I've had to make a number of minor adjustments in my meal plan to keep things steady. It looks as though you are on top of things and that has to be a great feeling. Stay strong.
Thanks. I know its a downer when the numbers go in the wrong direction, but i just use those results to be more careful and attend better to my diet, exercise, and pay better attention to things. I have a tendency not to be too rigid. My sodium was on the low side two testings ago, so I upped the sodium but too much. My great 125/75 BP went to 135/80 to 143/84 today. It amazing what salt does to your BP. I'm back on watching every grain of salt again. But, its missed. Haven't gotten to the point where I don't want it. But, I am definitely getting to the point where I absolutely don't want beef or pork ever again. Again, thanks for your support. Its always welcomed.
drmind,
So happy to hear! Thanks for sharing!
Like Mr._ Kidney and beachlove, I grill, roast, steam the veggies with spices and vinegar as they are great.
Once you find the right combo of spices, you won't miss the excess salt. It's foreign to me now.
Take good care as I know how annoying the strep can be, put it all behind you.
Warm thoughts!
