Newly diagnosed 3-B with a cyst that "appears benign"

Finally officially diagnosed. Nothing to do but keep doing what I already do in terms of diet and nutrition as well as exercise. I admit to being apprehensive about the cyst that "appears benign," as I am a three times over cancer survivor and nothing ever raised alarm bells prior to my getting incredibly ill. Still, the nephrologist will follow up again in six months, hopefully with another ultrasound. Anyone else have a similar ultrasound finding?

Bless you...you have lived through so much already!!

Yes, I have cysts and infarcts on my kidneys and am 3b too. I have been fairly stable for 8 years...although that’s contradictory between 2 hospitals...but that’s another story.

I’m glad they are keeping an eye...just do you peace of mind after your history, but I really hope they don’t cause you any issues!

Thank you for taking a moment to touch base. After reading various posts here and on the cardio group I belong to, I see many of us have lived through a lot. At least I know I am in good company! My anxiety will wane with time. It may have been rearing its ugly head in part because it is easier for doctors to gloss over things on these televisits. (I am a bit more of a ferret digging out info when face to face.)

I am also 3b too and was diagnosed of having benign cysts on my kidneys. My nephrologist told me not to worry about it.

And that response is sort of what I got from the nephrologist in regard to the cyst. I find those responses patronizing and don't like them.

Yes, I have simple and complex cysts throughout both kidneys. I am stage 3b. Haven't known but a year. Mine were discovered by ultrasound.

I have so called simple cysts on one if my kidneys, found by ultrasound! Was told not to worry about them ! Am stage 3b CKD 34 Also have heart failure! Was told that kidney disease and heart failure are like brother and sister , each blaming the other for the diseases!! GP never seems very worried about my blood tests ( every 12, weeks and have had no discussions with anyone since Covid restrictions began, even had 3 Cardiologist appointments over the phone!!!!
