Ortho Issues Caused by CKD?

I went to pull my leg in as i sat in the drivers seat to shut the car door, and tore my ACL in my knee. Two tears in the meniscus cartilage. contusions (bruising) inside. Leaked synovial fluid caused a 5cm baker’s cyst as well.

My ortho said it wasn’t the steroids causing this, it was more likely to be my kidney disease. Any clue how? So odd. [I had a kidney removed from congenital obstruction at age 17, now CKD Stage 3, GFR fluctuates from 40s-59, no higher. No treatment just wAtching it, i have other issues.]

Coincidentally (?), i have an incredibly inflamed tendon in wrist, and a serious trigger finger (both treated with injections last week- ouch!).

Just thought I’d ask! For opinions. Not medical advice. Thank you all, I read your nuggets of wisdom, and ya’all do make a difference!

I am no doctor, but a tear in the meniscus is usually done by movement... in other words, you did something that caused the meniscus to tear. I had this issue years ago. It was a simple as this. I had a bone spur in my knee cap. I played a LOT of tennis and had bone spurs in my foot also. Then, one day, I swung my leg over as I was sitting on the ground gardening and caught it bad. The spur caught the meniscus. Every movement tore it more. I had to have surgery. It was just something that happened. I,at that time, had no issues with my kidneys.
