Hi all. I am new to this forum. I am a 73 yo white female. I was first diagnosed at Stage 3B 6 years ago. The doctor did not give a reason for my kidney problems, but I do not have diabetes or hypertension, and I did not think to ask until years later when my (new) primary questioned why. My best idea is that I was born 3 months premature, weighing only 2.5 pounds, and therefore my kidneys were not fully developed and have never attained full function because of this. The nephrologist I consulted last agrees with this assessment. What do you guys think? Thanks
Stage 3B Ckd: Hi all. I am new to this forum... - Kidney Disease
Stage 3B Ckd
I am age 79 male and was diagnosed at age 75 at 3b. It could possibly have been caused by another medical condition, BPH. Age also plays into it. I was never given a specific reason. Based on blood work results for sodium, phosphorus and potassium, I was put on a CKD diet . You did not mention if you were given any treatment plan to slow down the progression.
No, I was told to do nothing. What us BPHplease?
BPH is a Prostate problem. Some Doctors might consider CKD 3b alone, not enough reason for a CKD diet? Write down your questions and ask your Doctor about treatment for CKD 3b. Then go from there and see if you need a second opinion.
