Is anyone been diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease and then after their tests found out that they had either bladder cancer or kidney cancer? This is a scary thought for me but I'm having trouble with UTIs and and blood in my urine and I'm wondering if it's tied into my kidneys being bad now just recently got diagnosed about 3 weeks ago.

My advice is to try not to let the unknown bother you. Your health care team can run test to narrow down the problems - then you can focus on managing the underlying causes. I've never been diagnosed with cancer, but I've been told it might be twice...which was a roller coaster of emotions. The first was when I was hospitalized and diagnosed with kidney failure (GFR 8). That first doctor has the worst bedside manners and said "Could be cancer". Got test done and no cancer. Then about 6 months later at a checkup we were discussing some symptoms, that doctor blurts out "Could like cancer, let's have some test done". UGH! After that 2nd time I finally stopped getting worried when things popped up. It's not easy - especially when they drop the big "C", but I've learned kidney disease has so many different challenges and symptoms. Best to get test, find the issue, then focus on it. Good luck!

Worry not unnecessarily - the stress itself of doing so can do you more harm than good. UTIs very often produce blood in urine, and antibiotics clear it up. Stage 3 kidney disease is quite common, too, particularly as we age. Like you, I had a spate of UTIs over a couple of years and on one occasion I pushed for an ultrasound as I have just a sole kidney and CKD3b. The result showed a small suspect area and further investigation (a cystoscopy under GA) revealed a simple polyp which was easily dealt with there and then. Interestingly, I am at present suspicious of a certain BP medication brand having been behind my UTIs. The brand went out of production for about a year recently and no UTIs during that time. That brand is now being prescribed again so I am on ‘high alert’! It does say in the patient leaflet that UTIs are a rare possible side effect. Just mentioning this in case you are taking any TEVA brand medicines.
Thank you so much for your reply... I think I tend to just get a little shook up as my doctor said Well usually when there's blood in the urine that could indicate bladder cancer 🥺 I'm like oh my goodness and of course it's all I can think of ever since I'm scared to death of that stupid test to check and so I don't know I know I probably should go in and have it looked at instead of sticking my head in the sand but yikes 😳😳
Yes. I had kidney cancer and had it removed the other one is being monitored every six months for fear it could spread. At this time it is keeping me off the transplant list I've passed the first six months no problem . Has this happened to any of u? All my labs are in normal range. No BP meds feeling good.
