AAKP Webinar for Potassium and Kidney Disease - Kidney Disease
AAKP Webinar for Potassium and Kidney Disease
Thanks, Mr. K. I just registered. Hope it will be followed by a webinar on phosphorous, the one ingredient seldom found on food labels.
Hi and welcome,
You can also go to the kidneyfund.org website. Go to their menu bar and click on the education link and you'll scroll down and find a Phosphorus and Kidney Disease webinar they held in the past. Once you watch it you can develop questions to ask your doctor or Renal Dietitian on what specifically you need to control.
I can give you a list of foods that are high in phosphorus but don't overdo anything without a consult from the nephrologist and/or RD.
Foods high in Phosphorus:
Cheese, milk and soymilk, eggnog, milkshakes, hot chocolate, pudding yogurt, custard/flan, ice cream, ice milk, sherbet, frozen yogurt, whole grain, bread, and cereals, baking soda/powder, pancakes, waffles, muffins, cake, cornbread, avocado, biscuits, beans, and peas, (except green/wax beans), corn tortilla, brown/wild rice, and rice mixes, coconut, nuts and nut butter, seeds, dried fruit, dark-colored sodas, beer, chocolate, pizza, organ meats, and sardines.
Stay safe.
