I really don’t know much about the numbers, creatinine number you want to be lower, and the GFR you want higher, is that correct?

That is correct, however, don't overreact to one great or bad number. Keep track of your GFR and always look at the average. An upward trend for GFR is good. Between all of my doctors, I've had about 40 labs for GFR. When diagnosed I was at 32. My average since then has been 51. My last draw, a week ago was 50. That's what I go by.
When I drop down a bit, I tighten up my meal plan. When it goes up, I just enjoy it and relax.
