Recently learned of my Possible CKD or AKD, but looks like it's Probable.

I've not chosen a Dr yet, but I'm seeing a D.O. that's very knowledgeable, and he's a good place to start.

No question with this post, I'd like to get formally joined, and read some posts before I post any questions of my own.

See you in the community!

Hi ckbeme,

Welcome! You have already joined this community. It is great place where you will be able to communicate with some really empathetic, caring and knowledgeable people.

To read prior posts, I believe you go to the 9 dots at the top of the page and see what comes up.

You might also click on another community as well to join by going to the smiley face at the upper right and scrolling down as you do when you log out.

The search bar is also helpful.

If you wish to send someone a private message, tap their name in a post or reply.

You can also follow posts of other members by clicking on their name as you will see when I respond to you.

Doctors....

My PCP is also a DO and I love her. Knowledgeable, listens well, treats the whole patient and is open to alternative medication, diet. She assisted me in finding my present nephrologist; we both like him a lot and they openly communicate after each visit as she told me as much.

If your DO is like mine, he is a keeper and will also be a great resource.

Ask him to recommend a nephroligist.

The important thing is that you set up a medical team who both communicates with you and each other, as if they don't, they are not worth having.

As far as posting; please do as initiating conversation will yield responses.

I am delighted that you have become a part of this wonderful support group and look forward to continuing to communicate.

Sincerely,

Bet

Welcome, ckbeme🐶

I’d definitely agree that you need to see a nephrologist. Putting together a strong medical team is critical. I’ve just shifted some of the members of my medical team at the beginning of the summer specifically because two of them weren’t working effectively with either me or one another. I’ve now got a very good situation. It has made a huge difference in both the quality of care I’m receiving but also how well I’m feeling and functioning.
