neurapathy in legs and feet
Sorry to hear about your problem. That’s great the Lasix is stopping the swelling. You might want to try wearing compression socks to see if that helps.

i do wear compression socks and that does help
Sorry to hear about your problems.
This community is a great way of sharing and finding answers to these types of problems. Compression socks are a good way to help this. I also found drinking plenty of water helped when my kidney function was real low and raising my feet too.
All the best

Patty, what is your actual GFR number. Stage 3 is a big range. It is unusual to have neuropathy at stages of 3A. Are you diabetic? Have you been checked for diabetes. That is a common situation and that would cause neuropathy. There are meds to help with it such as gabapentin. There are exercises and you might benefit from seeing a Physical Therapist. Try water therapy with a PT. Easy on the joints. Drinking water, walking, not sitting for prolonged periods of time, and compression socks are all are way to combat neuropathy. I have a watch that has a record of my steps per day and also an alarm that says time to move. Very helpful. Do not suffer but see your doctor about it.
I too have peripheral neuropathy in my feet and legs. The neurologist told me likely from ckd. Neurologist recommended compression socks and has helped with nerve conduction.
So sorry you’re struggling with this. My only comment is to watch the drug gabapentin. I took it a short while and it really messed with my memory and focus.
Hi Patty. I just want to give you some encouragement that the neuropathy doesn’t necessarily have to get worse. I had a lot of numbness in feet and lower legs when I was in ckd stage 3. Plus leg cramps at night. I am in stage 4 now (eGFR 25), and hardly ever have the numbness or cramps anymore. I went on a vegan diet (due to a lot of protein leakage), and started taking Farxiga (I am not diabetic). I am not a doctor so I can’t say if those changes got rid of the neuropathy. But just want to give you hope. Seems like with the right balance of meds and diet it could be possible to avoid or greatly minimize the neuropathy. Best of luck.
