I am 69 years old and live near Orlando Florida. I have developed CKD over a period of 3 years with my stage being 3B. I'm also diabetic and have high blood pressure. Finding it very difficult to address both conditions at the same time.

I'm 64 years old and have cod stage IV. I was stable at stage IIIB for approximately 4 years--dietary management with medication support.

I, too, have type II diabetes and prehyperyension. I manage both with diet and exercise. (A1C 5.2 and BP 124/68). For me, the A1C isn't a struggle, but the blood pressure is a different issue. My nephrologist recently decided that I've been dealing with dehydration due to a severe sodium deficiency. He had me eat 4000 mg sodium s day. Up until then my blood pressure ran very low. Now it is running slightly high but I'm staying hydrated.

Anyway, I understand your struggles! You're in my thoughts!

Thank you for your story. My eGFR is 31. Sine January it and creatinine have gotten worse from 42 and 1.45 creatinine July it was 31 and 1.68. Im scared worried and doing all I can do. Exercise and diet and consulted a renal dietician. A1C is 6.2. The nutritionist is preparing a food plan that will take into consideration the diabetes and CKD. I'm grateful that I have good dr's and a great support of church and friends. I have some shame so I'm careful who I tell. Really thankful for your response. I'll b thinking of you too.

smooch,

It sounds like you're doing a good job with your A1C. And, it's also great that you're doing what you can with exercise and diet. This is definitely quite a battle for each of us. I've found this to be such an emotional roller coaster. At least some of that is likely due to the impact the anemia and electrolyte imbalances have on our emotions in general. And, of course, it is just really stressful!

I definitely understand what you're experiencing.
