Day 158: Return To Normal.

So I took a couple of days off blogging and screen watching and spent a little more time with the family. I was absolutely raring to go by today but everything felt a little weird because I only ever have one day off at the most. I reflect on this today.

It’s good to see you back again and you really deserve those few days off 😊 Well done on the weight loss too 👏 I should tell you that your energy and focus is really inspiring. I have an important project at work on at the moment and it takes all my time and effort to do that, so posting on the Daily Diary 📔 has gone to pot as have other things. I also had a tiny, tiny glass of wine 🍷 last night and found that my sleep was worse than usual. Making major changes to our lifestyle isn’t easy and I’m thinking that our small regressions help us to see what we are really achieving when we stick to our guns. I’m glad you’ve found a way of eating that works for you 👍Me too. Just got to keep at it now 😉

Hi Sheperdess, thank you again for your support. I hope your project is going well and that it enhances your job/life (delete as appropriate). I sometimes wonder whether I have time to blog and write on here but it is so helpful to me (and maybe to others also), so I keep going. It really does help seeing how you feel after reverting 'back to kind' for a while and how much you are actually enjoying and benefitting from a healthier, better you. I am chuffed that you, too, have found a way of eating that heaps you, it is so personal - the choices we make as to how to go about losing weight - that we can listen to others but we should always do what we find useful. Good luck on your journey and good luck with your project!

O Sea, i do like your blogs.

You have just demonstrated the benefits of rest and recovery days. When my knees actually functioned I felt guilty if I didn't do a run when I was training for my half marathons etc. but like you found the work easier when I gave my body a chance to rebuild.

You are right about the diets working - every body and every lifestyle is different so every way of eating is different.

Not many people could do what I do ie- stuff myself silly first thing in the morning. I can't count calories.

You are also right that we find time to do what we like. This struck a chord with me, as I'm a world champion procrastinator. Over the last few days I have kept busy doing things that needed doing before I thought about frivolous stuff and generally tried to keep busy. The motivator was the dearly beloved being in hospital, but he's due home today all fixed.

Off to do the ironing!

stay safe.

Hi Sewknit, thank you again for your support and I am really glad you enjoy reading the blogs. I am really sorry to hear that your husband is in hospital, I hope he is ok and that you are ok too? You did say that he is coming home soon though, so hopefully he is better and it is nothing serious. I can definitely empathise with being a world class procrastinator, I was once one of them and, occasionally, that mantle returns and I have to fight a pitched battle to get rid of him again. Sometimes it's easier and sometimes it's hard, but I always win in the end.

I am glad that you are keeping busy, it is especially good to keep your mind active when someone you love is not well as it stops you from dwelling and helps you to kinda get on with things and keep a semblance of normality. Good luck with the ironing, mine took me about 3 hours to get through it today (the wife was at work), but I was happy that I did it and it gives me a little more exercise and another reason to keep busy. Good luck on your journey and keep fighting Doctor Procrastination.

He's home!

He had a total of 4 small heart attacks last week, but has had a stent fitted - the rest of his arteries are fine.

Just very tired and following instructions. Big wake-up call all round really, I'm just so glad I gave up work at the end of March.

That's fabulous news (that he's home, not about the heart attacks). I am glad he is ok and I am sure that you will keep a close eye on him and keep him healthy!

You sound more chipper after your short break! Firm believer in the occasional break - helps to refresh and re-focus. Could it be that you are finding the exercise easier because you've had a break? Sometimes things can become a chore and mentally you slow down, so having a break rejuvenates Well done on the continued weight loss keep going!

Hi DGJ, thank you for your support once again. It really does help to just, every once in a while, say, "Bugger it, I'm resting!" and this was my philosophy. I think my body and brain needed the break. And I certainly am reaping the benefits of it. Feeling much more energised this week. Good luck on your journey!
