Desperately need motivation to continue further :(

Hi everyone,

So i am new here, but very experienced when it comes to being fat. I am 18 Male and i weigh 107kgs.

I do try gym regularly and improve my eating habits but i just lose motivation very fast. i just cant keep up. Like i am the type of person who loses motivation as soon as i see that there is not much change. and thats what happens. I don't know how to move on further. i have tried numerous diets, meal replacement shakes etc etc. nothing seem to do anything to be honest. Any guidance is appreciated :)

BMI: 32.6 The last i remember. :(

  • Hi Dark_King,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. Motivation can be a tough thing to keep up - but joining an online weight loss forum, like this one, can hopefully help! I'm glad you've joined us, and I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community. Maybe read our Welcome Newbie post as a good starting point - it's in the Pinned posts area - right-hand-side of the homepage. Also, there are quite a few different Challenges going on in the forum, so again, look at the Pinned posts to see those, and join in with anything you like the look of.

Many of us are following the NHS 12 week plan, so that's worth a look. We have weight loss badges, to incentivise us, and also a Newbie badge - so let either myself or moreless know if you'd like a Newbie badge, and the weight loss badges start at 7lb or 5kg, so something to consider to work towards.

Wishing you a really good week.

    Lowcal :-)

  • Hi Dark-king, welcome. I hear you. From my own experience I find it hard to stay focussed on the weight loss goal and def lose motivation if the needle doesn't move (as much/quickly as I'd like). I've had most success when my goal has been different. Exercising for 30 minutes 3 times a week or running around the block twice a week for a period of time e.g. 6 weeks. Swimming 6 lengths one a week. Alternatively swapping out one meal e.g. Soup for dinner 3 times a week. Worth a try. Best of luck.
