Start of a new journey - day 3

Good morning everyone, hope you're all doing ok. So I've had a busy morning, school drop-off, dentist and then my second session in the gym!! Yesterday I was over 400 calories under my limit, and yes I was very honest about the roast dinner and packet of crisps I ate!! Thought I would wake up hungry this morning but I didn't!?! The gym went really well this morning, I managed 55 mins of cardio and 40 of strength, and I've already completed my 10,000 steps for the day!! My 12 year old son commented that I seemed a lot happier the last couple of days (I suffer from depression) so that must be a positive thing. I've also gone 3 hours without a cigarette (shocked face) and it wasn't the first thing I wanted when I got home, I wanted food (25g almonds and a banana). Am trying a new way to give up smoking, I don't take my cigarettes out with me, so the longer I'm out the house the longer I go without one! Cutting down slowly instead of trying to do to much at once and failing. How are you all doing today? x

Hi Rosie,

Wow, you've had a busy morning! Great that you've done your 2nd gym session already. Glad it went really well. It's lovely that your 12 year old noticed and commented that you're feeling happier - that is a positive thing!

Fantastic news re: the smoking too - really well done.

I'm doing ok, had a busy morning too, but going to have some lunch now, so nice to have a break and something tasty.

Have a great day!

Lowcal :-)

Wow, busy morning! Well done with the smoking, I stopped smoking 16 months ago so I know that's tough. Pleased you are feeling better and that it's noticeable too!

Hi Rosie! I'm impressed that you're quitting smoking as well as changing your diet at the same time. You must be really tough! :)

I also was surprised when I first started the 12-week plan at how much better I felt not being overly stuffed full all the time. And I'm always amazed at how much more energy I have after a swim. Seems like it would be the opposite.

Glad you're doing well and I have no doubt you can carry on as well as you've started. :D

Feeling a bit under the weather today, but the lemsip helped and hopefully I'll get a better sleep tonight and be back on form tomorrow.

Sorry you're not feeling well ☹️ Hope you feel better tomorrow. I don't know about being tough - stupid maybe lol. We'll see how it goes 😉 X
