Hi Gareth,

Hope you're having a great week yourself, and here's to our 3rd run of Week 5 - we can do this!!! :-)

I'll pin this post, and link to the previous one, just incase people are looking for it:

Good luck everyone with the 3rd run (or whichever run you're currently doing, as I know some people are at different stages, but enjoy it - whatever you're doing!).

Lowcal :-)

Well, I eventually managed to beat back the gremlins and complete run 3 this morning :)

It was an extremely slow run, 5K in 47.18 mins, so in order to make it a more positive experience, I ran an extra 1K for a total of 6k in 57.03 mins.

I enjoy the run more as time goes on, so feel that distance and not speed is definitely going to be for me.

Our mindset plays such a big part in being able to achieve these runs and this morning, I managed to put things into perspective by realising that to graduate the C25K, you need to be able to complete 3 x 30min runs. Well I've already done that and more, so anything else I achieve now, is icing on the cake :)

For anyone else who's struggling, or who thinks that they wouldn't be able to do this, I'd like to say, you CAN! 6 weeks ago, I couldn't run for 60 seconds and now I can run for just about 60 mins! Honestly, if I can do it, anybody can :)

Thanks Gareth, for your continued faith in us and for your unstinting support :)

The one thing they should say is yes it is c25k but it should be run 30 mins non stop to do 5 k in 30 mins will take a little more time but you are doing great treat yourself proud of you Gareth

Thanks Iben :)

It's way beyond what I imagined and has opened up a world of possibilities for me. I'm thrilled to be able to call myself a runner! :)

Hi everyone,

I did my 3rd run of the week this afternoon - thankfully it wasn't raining - but the ground was a bit wet in places as it has been raining quite a bit in the morning. Also, it was extremely hot and humid - I came back incredibly sweaty!

But I'm glad I did it, and I'm looking forward to another great week ahead.

We can do this! :-)

Well done Lowcal! Fantastic achievement! :)

I think you're really clever dealing with the heat and humidity, I wonder if I shall have the same stamina when I'm on holiday. Hot weather and I don't get on very well. I'm perfectly in sync with our Scottish climate! :D

Well done, Lowcal. That 20 min run is really a milestone, I think. You can do this, you can definitely do this!

Woo hoo well done. I'm the queen of coming home sweaty and there are always days you don't want to go out and days when it's hard: if it was easy everyone would do it. And I've truly found the rewards in self-esteem, confidence and mood to be amazing. 👣👟🍾

Always here to support exercise in general and running in particular because it's brought so much to my life. Hilly half mara on Sunday and it's not even a year since I finished treatment. Blessed.

Wow, Fleur, wishing you a wonderful run on Sunday - or did you do it on Sunday just gone? Whichever it is/was, I hope you enjoy/ed it!

Sunday coming thanks. It's one of the most challenging things I ever do

2h 33m. I had actually forgotten quite how hard it is: tree roots, stones and still going up hill 1.5 miles from the end. 😱 That said it is a beautiful, delightful friendly event and that's the fastest I've ever done it (over 3 minutes quicker than 2 years ago).

You 2 moreless and Zest are just brilliant. A whole new world opens up when you can run, it is a really great way of working off stress (and calories). Are you on your own now, or are there others still doing the programme?

Hi JaySeeSkinny,

I'm hoping there are still some people with us on this running expedition, but not quite sure where they are - hopefully out running, or preparing to run. :-)
