Hoping to make a permanent change

Hi everyone. I'm new to here and new to the NHS plan. I've recently signed up to be a bone marrow donor and was worried I might be too heavy to donate, so I checked. Found out I'm teetering on the edge of being unable to.

I'm frightened by how much I weigh and am determined to make a change! I've done it before and my weight has just increased and increased. I'm now the heaviest I have been and hope to make a positive change.

I am hoping I can do it in a sensible way and with everyone's support x

Hi Holly,

Welcome to the community - hopefully you'll find it supportive and encouraging place, there are lots of friendly people here.

Have you looked at the NHS website pages yet? There is a great 12 week structured plan, which has lots of helpful information and advice. The link to it is here if you'd like to take a look:

I hope you'll have a great first week on your journey towards weight-loss, and to achieving your goals. Good luck with your bone marrow donation - hope everything goes well with that, and hopefully you'll soon be well within the weight criteria required for you to safely donate.

Have a great week.

Lowcal :-)
