Hi Theman
It depends what your complaint is about. If your doctor is being rude, or hesitant in giving you information or support, you can complain to PALS at the hospital, or The Practice Manager, if he is a GP. If, however, your complaint is more serious, {negligence/wrong treatment etc} contact the BMA. Beware the BMA may mean you getting involved in legal issues and costs.
there is a helpline & they will send out a booklet with a form & information on the procedure. unfortunately I can't recall the name or number, but you can find it by googling nhs complaints procedure. good luck & be careful as there will likely be a backlash from them. I complained, got nothing resolved & have suffered with pretty bad care since despite the fact I'm disabled. don't think they feel patients have the right to complain!!
A very common problem with the NHS. You can make a complaint via the NHS but that will be in favor of the NHS. Have a look at citizens advice on the matter, there might be some useful information there.
I've been very tolerant of the rudeness of some NHS staff in the past, its now got to the point where I'm quite simply going to be rude back. Sometimes you have to speak a language they understand.
Please call the Patients Association on 020 8423 8999 or email us at helpline@patients-association.com and we will be able to help
