Hello I'm just wondering if any one has experienced something similar to my story. It all began in November my 9 year old son developed a rash on his arm I took him the doctors and was prescribed a course of antibiotics. 3 weeks later the rash had turned into a lump so I took him a&e he had his bloods X-ray taken and was confirmed that he had an abcess so the day after he had an operation to drain the fluid. After the op he was given a course of antibiotics and had to go back to Hosp every two days for packing and redressing. Over the weeks the wound was very sore and inflamed so they gave 2 diff antibiotics as they said it was infected. He saw the consultant 2 weeks after who said it looked fine and continue dressings and told me to contact gp if any further concerns as he was now discharged. the wound wasn't right it kept weeping and bleeding I took him back the doctors who said it was over granulating so he advised some more dressing care and another course of antibiotics due to the pus! Another 2 weeks passed still no improvement so we was referred back to the surgeon he then said that he would need to have surgery to investigate the matter. My son had emergency appt biopsies where took and removal of a lesion. His arm was very sore and painful after op we had dressing care and antibiotics once again. The wound initial healed for the first 2 weeks or so but then the lump appeared again I have received the histology results after no one telling me anything and it's come back as a Haemangioma they said that because it's not healed and the lump there again bleeding and very painful that they will to do another operation. And to see a plastic surgeon . I'm really concerned because my son has gone from a really active lively boy to quiet withdrawn and not himself. He's never been ill in all his life.. I'm just wondering if anyone can help. I have pics also xxx
