This is not the part of the NHS website that can advise you on these issues. We are a support group for people trying to lose weight. So NHS patients rather than working in the NHS. I think you need to contact an advice service on visitors using the NHS. You could phone your local CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) which might be one place to start. It is independent of the government. Or you could go to your local public library and ask if they have lists of local charities and ask them to help you find if there is one that specialises in advice for immigrants. You might be better just having your mother here for a visit. People that come into the country to use the health service are called health tourists and there is a lot of effort put in by the Department of Health to make sure that they are charged by the NHS for the cost of their treatment. Not sure that hospitals etc are that good or that keen on making sure that they are identified and charged. Hope you find a way forward with being able to support your mother through her illness and treatment. It is so difficult when families are split between different countries.

No need to be rude here. This guy is really desperate for his mother and you can see it from his writting that he is broken . God forbid how would you feel if you were in their place?

I am so sorry you had to leave your seriously ill mother. Can you get back to her? She needs you and of course you need to be with her. The NHS of Britain is really for people who have British Citizenship but Britain does not ignore the visitors who have a sudden accident or illness whilst in our Country. You have left your mother to suffer alone and it is your responsibility to go back to Romania and look after her. The NHS is already in a lot of debt and cannot afford to look after people who live in another country. It is a terrible situation for your mother and your family but you have to find the money to get back to your mother. Please understand that Britain in not a charity but we give many millions of pounds to other countries. This is hard advice for you to read, but charity begins at home and in this case it is your mothers home. I wish you good luck in leaving Britain, and I wish your mother a recovery or at least some respite from the disease.

You cannot expect to bring your wife and child to Britain and take advantage of our free NHS, free education and even income benefits and then want to bring your seriously ill mother for free treatment. This cannot happen and I think your only option is to return to Romania if you want to look after her and stop her feeling so lonely as well as ill.

you should be in romainia looking after your mother if she means anything to you its your moral responsibility and duty to care and support her, but obviously your not there so the reason your here must mean a lot more to you. the fact that your here and not there shows you dont really care so how can you expect anyone else to care. learn to support your self and your family and you should not expect the good hard working citizens of the uk to tip up a third of there annual income to help the rest of the world, meanwhile not being able to get care for them selfs. Try getting a job and pay into private health care if your that concerned about her
