Two different hospital appointments for same diagnostic testing with consultants.

All the nearest hospitals to where I live (Bath/Bristol) had very long waiting times for Neurology appointments so my GP agreed to make a second referral to the main Neurology hospital in London to see if she could speed things up.

I then received an appointment from my nearest hospital in Bath to be seen almost immediately. I attended this appointment and was given a 'probable diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis'. This hospital does not specialise in MS The next day the hospital in London called to offer me an appointment. I would like to take this appointment as it is generally a much better hospital and specialises in Multiple Sclerosis.

Can I take this second appointment?

Hi marieceleste,

In short, yes indeed you can. I suppose you can put it down to serendipity, not planning, but you can use this appointment as an opportunity for a second opinion on your diagnosis. However it does not necessarily mean that you will get a ‘better’ or different diagnosis. Best wishes.
