Burning sensation in my right foot
You need to go see a Neurologist. Could be a number of reasons as stated below.
Hello dear ,I had gone to neurologist after being diagnosed with a prediabetes and the neurologist prescribed me to take Amitriptyline and mecobalamin.I took them and it helped me but Amitriptyline was causing me problem of heart burn in my chest and I decided to stop it and continue only taking mecobalamin but after stopping mecobalamin the burning sensation in my feet comes again .I tried to manage my prediabetes with lifestyle change and diet. The only fear I still have is becoming total a diabetic .Would you please advise me on how I should reverse my prediabetes and become normal again ?Thanks for your helping advice .I wish you all good health .
I'm not much one for knowing much about diabetes. I DO KNOW that losing weight is a good start. You know I was thinking, did you have a blood test in awhile? Sometimes if your B12 is low; neuropathy can be exasperated. There are so many different causes of neuropathy. When was the last time you visited a doctor? I don't think it's good for you to eliminate a medication without medical advise. Did he do ANY bloodwork? I mean in addition to what tests your physician ordered?
Hi Peter,
If you have a family doctor or physician, they may be able to provide you with some guidance. As another person stated you likely want to get a referral to a neurologist. They can do assessments and find out what is causing your pain. Good Luck.

Hi Peter, You should talk to your doctor. Ask the reception to book an appointment so you can talk about the medications you have tried and what you have noticed. You should mention your fear of full diabetes if you haven't already. You may be surprised at the informed advice they have to offer. I have been on a drug called pregablin for my nerve pain. You could ask if they think this drug is something you could try. Keep in touch!
