Neurosurgery

Hi

Happy 2022.

I am new on this group and could really do with some advice please.

I was diagnosed with epilepsy approx 10 years ago due to a cavernoma on my left temporal lobe. The neurologists are very keen for me to have neurosurgery. I have done lots of research and have read articles on the positives and negatives. My seizures are regular and medication doesn’t help, I have tried many but tend to suffer lots of side effects so I have to keep changing the medication. Any increase or decrease of my medications exacerbates my seizures. It’s a vicious circle.

Has anybody had neurosurgery with a positive outcome, and have your seizures ceased?

Any advice would be appreciated and be very valuable .

Hi. If you are in the UK you could call the Headway helpline on 0808 800 2244. Best wishes. 🌼
