I tested positive for chlamydia a year ago and took the medication and all was fine. But I then slept with the person who gave me it again (stupid I know) but I thought they had got rid of it like I did. Then 10 months on they told me they still had it so of course I went to get tested and I have a new partner now and have just given birth so I go get tested and i test negative? Is there any way this result could be incorrect? I am worrying like mad!! I had my baby 5 weeks early by emergency c section and I was 3cm before I got took for the c section could mu baby have chlamydia!! Could I have chlamydia even though I tested negative? Could this be the reason I went Into labour early?

Could I have chlamydia? Could my baby have chlamydia?
Hi, I tested positive for chlamydia at 36 weeks, my sons father never told me he had but it came back on a swab that was taken for recurrent bleeding/spotting. I was absolutely devastated and so worried it could have harmed my baby. I was given an injection as it was the quickest form of treatment being so near to my due date. Babies can't have chlamydia but the sidea effect are eye infections and pneumonia. I retested at my 6 week check and it came back positive so I had it whilst giving birth (my son was also in my birth canal for 2 hours as he was back to back) and he was absolutely fine. I would say its highly unlikely that you have it given a negative result or that it would be why your baby was early but maybe do another test if you think it will help put your mind at rest x
I’m just such a worrier and am constantly panicking about it my son had a sticky eye but antibiotic drops cleared it up so I don’t think it was a chlamydia infection as that requires oral medication. I will take another test it is just difficult at the minute with all this corona virus stuff going on but Thankyou x
I know I'm the same. My son had blocked tear ducts for the first few weeks so always had sticky eyes and I was so paranoid. I'm sure you are fine though, would have thought it's highly unlikely to have a false negative. Take care x
