I've got a collection on the "that's not my......" books, with lots of touchy-feely bits in. My daughter used to love peepo and each peach pear plum & would sit & listen at 11months old. The very hungry caterpillar & we're going on a bear hunt have been firm favourites since being little too x

As above plus “where’s mr/Mrs kangaroo etc” they are felt flap books and my LG loves them. Also any books that she watched the TV programme of. We go to the library a lot and borrow some from there x

My little girl loves goodnight Sophie. It’s a touch feel book, it’s very short and sweet. We read it every bedtime, she gets so excited when you get book out. There’s a mirror on 1 on pages and she can’t wait for that page, she laughs and keeps pulling the mirror towards her, other than that. Any other books are impossible, as she just want to either throw it on the floor or keep closing the book. x

There are lots of good baby books out there which others have recommended. But I would also recommend buying a more advanced book to read to baby, I got some Paddington books which are lovely. Baby might not listen too the whole story in one go, but it's a good way to expose baby to a more diverse vocabulary. You never know, you might find your baby really enjoys being read a story, my boy loves his Paddington books and they have nice pictures. I recommend thebookpeople.co.uk if you're in the UK, they have a lot of good deals.

We started reading doctors zeus when he was first born but then went on to board books such as one Ted falls out of bed, thats not my books and anything that rhymes.

We visit the library most weeks for rhyme time sessions and books. The library staff are really good with recommendations and there is free book start packs when you register and free books to keep throughout the year.

My boy is obsessed with the Julia Donaldson books. Started reading them to him when he was a bit young for them really but now at 20 months they’re definitely his favourite!
