Trying

Does anyone else feel that the idea of deliberately trying to get pregnant, somehow seems wrong!!? Has it been so engrained into us NOT to mess up, and accidentally get pregnant that, even as a 32 year old that has been considering it for years now, I still feel like I should be avoiding it??

I felt upset that we are all told to avoid accidents because you’ll end up pregnant to try for over 2 years and need IVF. I think it’s all well and good telling us scare stories but where is the other side where it may not happen so easily? 🤷‍♀️ (Just my feelings but I’m sure others have felt similar)

Yep. If I'd known we'd try for 4 years with nothing to show for it, I'd definitely have agreed to stop using contraception back in the day, when we were young and realised our relationship was for real. Thankfully now we got our little miracle and another on the way :)

Ooooo another one, congratulations! My husband is 8 1/2 years older than me so now we have our miracle it’ll just be the one for us (as well as the financials etc) just felt sad last week as we had to send our letter back to say they could destroy our 3 Frosties 😢 not a problem if you haven’t had IVF either! There needs to be more education x

How sad you had to destroy them but totally understand. Thank goodness for science! I'll be in awe at IVF for the rest of my life I think.

Yes! I am with you on this all of the way. I am 32 and pregnant with my first and my husband is 34. When we decided we thought we could start trying for a baby it felt so weird because we joked about how growing up you’re told never to have sex without protection.... and that basically going close to a boy will get you pregnant!

I think this is also why people start to panic when they don’t get pregnant as soon as they try because it actually takes some time and it’s not like what you see on Jeremy Kyle!

Thanks Laura! Good to know it’s not just me!

I also don’t feel mature enough which is hilarious at 32.... but I can’t reverse it now. Haha!

I can completely relate to this and thought it was just me. I came off the pill in December as I we wanted to try for a baby but was worried about getting pregnant which was ridiculous!! Now everything time I have my period I am so disappointed.

We started trying after our wedding in November and I agree it doesn’t feel natural. We went seriously for it though as we are both 37. So naturally or not Im so happy we insisted as now I’m 13 wks pregnant. So I guess the ends justify the means 😉
