Isofix base

So I know it’s not recommended to buy a second hand car seat but does the same apply to a Isofix base? Debating whether to get one to go with the car seat to make life a bit easier but as they’re expensive i was wondering if it was safe to buy one second hand?

As long as it works they say don’t buy second hand but most time they’ve not been in an accident or damaged in any way I’d be more likely to buy from a friend tho
