If u have the money then it's up to u how badly u want the colour one. ..I didn't think I'd end up spending as much as i did but I shopped around and got the best deal can u not check to see if it's on special offer somewhere and where u bought it may price match? And if ur thinking of having more children then u will use it again so ur get use out of it...I think 300-400 these days is pretty average now x

In my opinion , its not worth it ! But its up 2 u if u can justify the extra on purely cosmetic grounds , U can allways accessorise with colour liners , foot muff , parasol etc ... Plus being a neutral colour it's a bonus if u look at selling it later on or keep it 4 future babies.

I'm using my silver cross travel system 4 my 2nd and eveyone thought it was new cos of how good condition its in and even though I love it , which is y I kept it , I mainly used a umbrella pushchair from 6 mts with my 1st , worn 1 out in fact so shows how much it got used in comparison , invested in a Maclaren then as their hard wearing and good for bigger toddles cos he was nearly 3 when I bought it , umbrellas r just easier , i walk alot but even if u have a car there easier as prams tend 2 more bulky , heavier and harder 2 fold down . Think every mum I know ended up with a pushchair 4 there lo as soon as possible so my advice would b keep the money and invest it in a pushchair later on , at the end of the day it's ur choice !

I preferred black as I'm not going to buy another pram when we have 2nd baby! We knew we were having a boy this time, but wanted a unisex colour if number 2 is a girl!! But if you have the disposable income, and you have all the other essentials.. why not if you really want a particular colour!

I got a black silver cross 2nd hand, cost next to nothing...& a friend has the same one so thought it should be ok....if I don't like it once start using then I'll get rid. I wasn't keen on idea at first as my OH turned up with it as I was looking forward to going test driving, however once I had put it together & washed it all, it will be just fine I suspect & can colour accessorise one we know if pink or blue.

They say babies cost alot, well I for now have been a very very conservative shopper...the pram purchase was just the beginning of the savvy shopping X

I bought the oyster with it all black but a friend had a blue colour pack she no longer wanted so I took it...not sure I wud of bought it frm new as for what it is was quite pricey...maybe see if eBay hav what ur after as its a win win with u getting what you want at a cheaper price. X

I think its fine to want to buy a personalised colour of pushchair if you've got the extra income to do it.

I've personally decided to use the same pushchair i used with my 1st child ( born in 2008) which is black & grey coloured in design but i bought a new ( 1st stage car seat) which also fits to the chassis of the pushchair for use when we'll be out & about.

ive also being out of work for nearly 2yrs so im obviously on a budget at the moment :-)

Thanks mums....

Really helped me to give a bit of open mind n choice to decide what would b best option as I am also in budget ... But it's the fact that I have three older children n one with special needs... So my youngest is now 6!! And defiantly need one now as I used my first for all three !! Yeh mmm did prity wel so for this my last I thought it will a treat to me n the new pumpkin!!:-). ... Again as u all mention its personal choice, but black is neat n am saving wont b using forever. ... ;-))

Personally I think that's mad! Trying to charge you £100 for a different colour pushchair!? I paid nearly £400 for my pram and my car seat and both came with the option of different colours and that was completely free but I had them both in black, they're easier to sell in neutral colours that suit boys or girls cx

Yeh exactly it's a bit rip off I think too actually ... Just for a different colour it's sort of blackmail type making money out of ure choice... It's mothercare where all this of any choice of matter will n charged...;-(( mmm

Hi mrsturner17, it's a mother are Orb .... And a choice for berry colour it's extra £100.. :-o but mmm, it's only that black can get a bit boring...:-/ so which pram did u purchase?....

I know black is rather boring but if u decided to sell it after a while it would be a lot easier to get rid of, I had the mothercare my4, I bought it when I was 16 weeks and really wanted it in red but hubby talked me out of it just incase :( wish I'd never let him now! But iv just purchased a 2nd pushchair so I can alternate and that's red with kitty's on! So my little girl can vary between em now! But I looked at the orb cannot believe there is an extra cost for a colour I think if it was a little less I wouldn't be so disgusted but £100?? Why?? I'd love them to explain that! Xx
