Hello all, my 11 year old was suddenly taken ill early July this year (2024) and after a week in hospital was diagnosed with Myosotis.
She currently is not able to walk and despite physiotherapy we are not as yet seeing improvement. She’s not been given any medication, but other than seeing a physio once a week and as parents we are doing the exercises twice a day and once a day five times a week in a swimming pool, but finding the whole thing difficult/ challenging, and trying to keep her positive is hard. Prior to becoming ill she was performing on stage (dancing/singing and acting) and she’s active at sports also.
her twin brother is finding it hugely difficult as usually during the school holidays we go camping, do lots of water sports and trips to the beach that all seem impossible currently. We have tried and wheelchairs and fields don’t mix well. Thankfully we did have a trip planned to the Olympics and changed travel options to driving and staying at Eurocamp! But it was hard and despite being a party of six, it was challenging with lots of carrying and planning ahead to get somewhere, something we’d usually just done, so the experience for us as a family is very eye opening.
Looking to see if a one here has similar stories and able to share. So I can give my daughter some hope.
Many thanks in advance.
