Polymyositis

Have any polymyositis people on here had lower lumber and hip pain in one side and did any one try acupuncture I am now 5 years with polymyositis but this has Ben two months now and excruciating pain anyone less have this happen thankyou n advance

hi polymyositis can cause hip pain but u need hip joint MRI for hip necrosis AVN

Thanks for your reply yes I’m sure it’s myositis the hip pain is excruciating however I am still waiting to see when and hat rheumatoid has to say of course it’s been 22 months since last seen but go has put in again an urgent appointment to see him .

I have polymyositis. I get pain in my left side which seems to stem from lower lumbar and travels into my knee. Have had mri and xray nothing showing. It comes and goes. The Phisio says it is an irritated nerve. It can be really painful! If you try acupuncture let us know how you get on. I would be interested.

Thanks for your answer it seems same as Maine I’ve now had it be accupuncture treatment and yes it did help I can get out of bed easier and walk much better however still n excruciating pain in my hip I have another treatment at weekend so if this helps I will keep treatment going even if it’s just once a month I will keep you posted he did say it will take a bit of time to be pain free ,,,,

Glad it's helped have been thinking of trying acupuncture although yours sounds much worse than mine . Are you on the Facebook group The myostitis community of great Britain and ireland. It's pretty active and full of others experiences. I am new to all this as have just got the diagnosis even though have had difficulty for a long time.
