Currently there are no medical treatments for IBM, but there are ongoing trials and you are more likely to be included in future trials if you see a specialist in IBM (see links below).
I am very hopeful that we are finally nearing the time when treatments are available. Exercise is advised particularly because not all muscles are effected by the disease.
