Thank God I do not have back pain, but I am just wondering if anyone is suffering from leaning forward all the time. I can’t seem to stand up straight naturally. I do some , but I don’t know if it’s from weaker legs or what have you. Thank you for your help. I figured this would be the place to go to for guidance.

I put myself in a wheelchair when I kept falling. I do stand and do exercises holding onto something, but sometimes I fall backwards. That sucks, but I try!
Leaning forward seems to take pressure off a wobbly spine for me. Plus, it seems to 'balance' me more & prevent me from falling backwards. I hear what you are saying, positiveness. There has to be a solution. Let's see what this gang says.
Hi Positiveness...I have been fighting MS signs but this last year or so the back finally addressed a bit. I use 4 ladocaine patches a day..doc knows. did an exray and our "gate" as MSers throws off the entire spine than also add osteo and if you bend over at the shoulders for hearing comfort etc.. Found a neckbrace that keeps top of spine neck stable which released alot of pain. Lost it for a bit and tried a new one flat in bed a week,,, the old one found and back up after 3 days... keep trying.... stretching for me is a must. The neck braces on line were too stiff so it was worse*
I tend to lean forward, maybe partly because I use a rollator a lot of the time, and walkers and rollators have a way of causing us to lean forward as we hang onto the handles. I also lean forward because my upper back is now permanently bent, maybe due to borderline osteoporosis. I'm taking Fosamax to (I hope) keep that from getting worse but in the meantime there's no way of fixing the damage that has already happened.
I keep trying to remember to straighten up, especially when doing something like going around with the rollator. Maybe that's all we can do--keep remembering to straighten ourselves out?
My husband is in a scooter and he leans forward quite a bit. His core muscles are no longer strong enough to hold him upright. He hasn't found it uncomfortable which amazes me. His head also leans to the right. Could just be that you have a weak core. Everyone has different muscles affected by MS, although, generally, MS works from the legs up. So it's unusual that you would have a weak torso and legs strong enough to support walking.
I am a “leaner forward “ as well. I am currently in PT for my thoracic spine. They have really helped me feel better and I feel more balanced.. I have done a lot of gait training and balance work in PT since I had to retire in 2021. Probably a total of 10 months combined… I do a lot of my PT after my water classes to work on my core strength..
