Hello!
also forgot to add the hospital infusion only takes a couple hours and for me only symptoms i have is heavy nose bleeds but they say the 3 day at home is more comfortable and rare for symptoms since it’ll be a slow process
Hi, Haileym. If you don't mind my asking, what type of infusion are you having? Solu Medrol steroids for a relapse?
I'm not going to be too much help here, because I've only had hospital infusions. I can see some of the pros and cons, though. The first being, will your insurance pay for the hospital infusion, because sometimes I've heard that they don't give you a choice. Hospitals charge a ton for everything, so doing it at home is great for your insurer.
With a home infusion, it might be really nice, if you're not feeling well, not to have to go out. On the other hand, if you're like me, if you haven't been feeling well, you may not be up to cleaning for "company", so from that point of view, I personally might hesitate. If you don't care what people think, or your house is clean, awesome! I can't think of a medical reason why one would be better than the other.
I'm familiar with hospital infusions, so that seems normal to me, although I'm not always able to drive. The nurses take good care of you, even if the chairs are uncomfortable. Sometimes you might even get lunch or a snack. If you have any specific questions, reply to my reply, and I'll do my best to help.
There you have it, my late-night, off the top of my head thoughts on the matter. Best of luck, no matter what you decide!
If I could do at home infusions I would! I have too many reactions and I’m usually at the hospital for 8-10 hrs.
I would love a home infusion, haileym ! My infusions are at an infusion center because my insurance will not cover infusions done at a hospital. I hope that your infusion went well. Keep Smiling
