Hi Community Fam, Philly can’t seem to stay stable with the sunshine! I thought I was living in a tropical rain forest for almost two weeks!! Feeling so tired and “wiped out” Neuro app, is the 24th of this month; can’t wait! I actually want a MRI to make sure I’m stable and nothing new since a year ago. Menopause doesn’t help either, I’m hot - then cold!! This too shall pass 🙏 Hubby is planning a nice Mother’s Day treat weekend, so gotta start to feel more energized! Strange thing, I take the recommended units of Vitamin D, eating healthy; what else can we do??? Yup 🙏always the best medicine. Blessings and love to everyone. NeeC
Anyone Else Feeling Like Me?: Hi Community... - My MSAA Community
Anyone Else Feeling Like Me?
Hang in there. M.S. and menopause are a tricky combination! Listen to your body, if you're feeling wiped out, rest and wait. And look forward to your Mother's Day outing! 🤗
Sorry you're going through that.
I've come close to melting a few thousand times. I use a small table fan to help at home. Everywhere else is misery.
I once saw these plastic hot flash necklaces with huge water filled beads that looked like something straight out of The Flintstones.
That's an option for formal occasions....on other planets, where no one can see these monstrosities.😅
I’m in South Jersey! Neighbor 🙂. I too am feeling blah because the weather has gotten me down and achy. I too am in the menopause stage of life. No this isn’t fun and soon it will be too hot out again. lol. I hope you get to enjoy the few nice days we get 🙂
If the heat has caused you to exercise less this could cause increased fatigue. I hope you get more energy soon! Mine seems to fluctuate a lot, could be menopause related for me too.
Hello, I hope Philly weather gets better. I moved to Atlanta from Philly ten years ago. I'm coming up on Mother's Day to meet my daughter. She's coming over from the UK. As for menopause, I wasn't diagnosed until after going through menopause so I don't know what effects it has.
Hope you feel better.
Hope you feel better soon. I am currently in early menopause or 'perimenopause' and every once in awhile the hot flashes can be bad. I have a cooling blanket that I use on my bed with the fan on high and the window open when its cool outside. I have a fan on my desk that I can turn on when needed.
About 4 or 5 months ago I started taking One A Day women's menopause vitamins and they may be helping to keep the hot flashes 'in check' for the most part.
Keep us updated on how you are doing.
Hello, and hoping you are doing well. I suffer from extreme exhaustion - sadly, I find this to be the worse part of MS... My neurologist prescribes me Modafinil. It helps a lot with staying awake, and even helps a bit with brain fog. Maybe it can help you. Love, light, & peace.
please hang in there. Sounds like we are in somewhat similar situations. I am west of Phillie in Central PA and also felt the effects of the recent warm weather. I'm also menopausal and that doesn't help the attempts to deal with temp changes. I try to exercise inside at a local gym 4-5 times per week ("try", is the word I used). Enjoy your Mother's day weekend!
Hi!! I’m from Berks County so I know the weather pain. I’m also going through the hot/cold part of menopause. I only get heat flashes in the evening and only while I’m at home. Weird. I already slept with an ice pack but now it’s necessary!! I’m not even thinking about Mother’s Day because the following week I have a son leaving for USAF basic training and a son graduating from college. Five days apart!! I hope I can keep up!! I hope you are able to enjoy your weekend!! MS definitely isn’t for the faint hearted!!
No it’s not! I was just in your area 😊 Hubby and I went to the Berks Jazz Festival to see Incognito at the Doubletree! We usually go every year 🎶
HI Philly girl! I was meant to see your post. I grew up in Philadelphia and miss it very much. In Florida now I am trying to decide if weather and practical to return to my roots. My siblings are here and nj but cannot support me at this time. I love them but I am sad that our lives grow apart. I was born and raised and started my symptoms in 2002 w/ Thomas Jefferson my first surgery/ nothing about MS. I can’t go back and change but move forward in FAITH. Where do you live? Lots of friends I stay in touch. Happy Mother’s Day and thank you 🙏 for your support.
Here in North Jersey the weather is the same enjoy it while you can
Close to UPenn and Drexel!!! I see all of my doctors at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital except for my Neurologist; he’s at Riddle! I been with him for 16 years and he was the only doctor who looked at my “films” and agreed that I had MS!!! Several other so called “Super doc’s” wanted to wait have me run back and forth??? Meanwhile I was sick as a dog 🥲. Philly is wonderful for the Arts and Restaurants, Museums, but right now we have out of control millennials who don’t give a darn about human life surging the gun violence to devastating numbers on a daily basis! Our parents kept us in check with spiritual guidance, structure and knowing your friends! Hubby and I looking more peaceful areas for mind, body and soul 🙏. Blessings my friend
