medicare grievances?
Not here sry, I try to stay under the radar with all of that.. 🫣🤗💕🌠
I don't have Medicare part D yet, because my husband still works and his group plan covers my drugs. So I don't have experience with it. While you're fighting with Medicare, there are a lot of things you can do to save money on your prescriptions instead of going through your insurance.
1) Is it a brand name drug? If so, check the manufacturer's website for an assistance program. You can also call them. There are often income limits to qualify, but not always.
2) RxOutreach.org, which I believe also has income limits, can help with prescriptions.
3) Goodrx.com and Singlecare.com (among others) offer coupons for your drug that you can use one time instead of your insurance. Each time, it's best to look up a new coupon to be sure you're getting the best prices. Savings can really be substantial. They offer memberships, but you don't have to join to get coupons. You can text or email them to your phone, then just show it to the pharmacist on your phone.
3) Costco and Sam's Club pharmacies often have great prices and you don't have to be a member to use the pharmacies. Check their websites for your drug.
4) Costplusdrugs.com is Mark Cuban's mail order pharmacy, which has amazing prices! They don't have everything and their ordering system is a bit different, but it's absolutely worth checking.
Good luck with everything!
Edited to add: Just for everyone's sake, I feel I should point out that if you have an RX for a controlled substance, you should use caution when switching pharmacies. I've heard that some pharmacists unfortunately see that as red flag and will refuse to fill any controlled substances for you. Because of people who abuse drugs, people with a legitimate need can suffer as doctors and pharmacists are wary of repercussions.
