This might or might not happen to you! Hopefully it won't! If it does... I am sorry, welcome to the wall walker club! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Seriously, tho... making sure of your surroundings and what is on the floor is key! πŸ™‚

If you are at the point of needing assistance products check out MSAA mymsaa.org/msaa-help/assist...

Others are going to have other tips, I hope πŸ«£πŸ˜‚πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

Wish there was something to help with the cat who likes to run out in front of me when she sees me walking and almost trips me daily...uh. I have to concentrate where I'm going and not looking down to see if she is in front of me all the time. You would think almost being stepped on daily would cure her of this...nope lol

Been there beforeπŸ˜‚

If you walk around with a laser pointer, you could redirect her away from your feet.

Good idea, though she could take or leave the laser pointer. She loved it when we first adopter her but not so much anymore :(

That sounds familiar! Although there are absolutely times when it's my fault, because if I'm in the kitchen, I should know there will be a hungry cat there for me to step on.

Reeses likes to be so close that if I step back or go forward, I can hear her run lol You would think they would learn lol

You would think! I guess they haven't gotten that far in their evolution!

It's not for everyone but I put handprint stickers on all my walls, to guide my steps much like a dance studio with foot placement footprints on the floor.

I am ery graceful because of this.

Good heavens that was a lot of typing just for a bunch of BS.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I need to take a nap now.

Yep! Wall and furniture walker here πŸ‘Œ you'd think I'd use me stick/rollator/wheelchair more in my house, but we've not got enough space! I live in a 2 up, 2 down UK terraced house πŸ˜• the only things I've managed to get in the house are grab bars, a bannister going across the wall from my bedroom at the front of the house to the toilet at the back of the house, a stannah stairlift, and some steps at my front and back door.

Uneven surfaces are very difficult for me. I need a walking stick to get across them but can manage flat even floors with minor swerving.

I’m not there yet. I do have what I’ve heard as foot drop or what I call jelly legs. Neuro has me taking ampyra wich has helped some. I can’t wait to get to a shopping cart at the store! Sometimes I feel as though I’m walking like Joe Biden. It’s a battle so I’ve increased my activity level and it has helped! I hope to still be able to control my gait because next month I’ll be skydiving for the first time. It’s something I believe I have to do while able as I’m afraid of heights. 1st is a tandem and 2nd jump is a solo. Knowing where I’m going when I die helps. Falling from 14000 feet gives you terrifies me in the event of a malfunction. That gives me 60 seconds to prepare for being a pancake. I will be taking an extra kolonipin before jumping!

Wow - skydiving. Good luck with your jumps and enjoy!! Tell us how it goes. My daughters went skydiving a few years ago and I was on the ground cheering them on. There's a part of me that wishes I spent the $ and did it! Oh well, maybe some other time.

And I’m afraid of heights! When I was young I couldn’t get high enough. Now I’m 62. I know where I’m going when I die so my only fear is falling from 14000 feet! Maybe God will make me have a heart attack and die if there’s a malfunction!πŸ˜‚

You are afraid of heights and you are skydiving?πŸ€” Why? Just, Why? And your going to take a kolonipin before? πŸ€” won't that slow your reaction time? 😐 No... just no... πŸ«£πŸ˜‚πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

I’m gonna take a kolonipin cause I’m going to be seriously STRESSED! It’s one of those face your fears things plus my son married a possessive self entitled woman who will not allow him to fulfill his lifelong dream of being an Air Force PJ. She hates me and he and I have very little contact. I know he still loves me. I love that boy to death and I hate seeing him allow this. I call them Harry and Meghan πŸ˜‚

Face my fears nothing! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ God also gave ya brain to maybe.. umm Use it? πŸ«£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Talk about vertigo!! And just because you went once, doesn't always mean you will go back. ~May You Be Wrapped In The Wings of Angels Always My Friend~

Girl yo replies make my day!πŸ˜† I promise you, only jumping out of perfectly good airplane at 14000 ft and the shoot not opening scares me! I know where I’m going so WTH! Now by some chance I lived, that would suck!πŸ§‘β€πŸ¦½or πŸ‘©β€πŸ¦Ό

πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ If it's a perfectly good plane, why are you gonna jump out of it? Seriously?? It's a good plane! Stay in it! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Some ppl just don't get it... We don't have wings! πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

It’s not like I believe the song I’ll be falling and then floating to the ground so technically, the only thing flying is the plane.

The only places I walk without a cane are at home where I know where all the walls and furniture are and the grocery store where they have shopping carts. At the grocery store I use my cane to get things off the top shelf or I hand it to my husband to get things off the top shelf. I use a rollator if I'm walking in a mall or museum. I have noticed at home when I don't use a cane my left foot turns out instead of straight I imagine for balance. It stays straight when I have a cane.

Well, 10 years before my MS diagnosis I had a vestibilar loss, so I walked like I was drunk. Now, 26 years later, with MS I have to use a rollator anywhere outside my house. At home it's walls and furniture, because like others have said, my apartment here in Atlanta is small. Oh, and while visiting my daughter in the UK in December and January, her two little kitties would run across my path and sit on the step in front of me as I struggled going up and down. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

This is starting to become me. I do find myself dragging my hand along walls as I walk. I am fighting using any assistance (beyond my boyfriend's arm) but I know I need to face reality. I do my absolute best to hide this from others - it's tiring. Thank you for your post.

It is very tiring πŸ€— Your not being your true self πŸ™‚ and the thing is, we think we are hiding it, when we really aren't. So do what's best for you! πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

Yes, I experienced the β€œDizzies” when I sit in a high balcony upon waking down the stairs!!! Walking up is not as problematic; we sit in the balcony of our Church because it’s not as crowded and I usually β€œkick off β€œ my shoes and get comfy! God doesn’t mind 😊
