hi everyone! I have had a relapse that lasted 2 months. Then as soon as I was feeling better I started doing more. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. As I was crawling out of bathroom I noticed a fuzzy. I stood and picked it up thinking that would be faster. That landed in my twisting around to throw it away. Sounds simple. Should’ve been simple. Instead my silly leg said no you’re not! And I twisted and fell and head a horrible snap (like a turkey wishbone). It’s my leg. Badly broken and my ankle is twisted! I landed myself in the hospital with an ambulance ride. I sit here in a hospital bed with a new cast from my foot all the way up my thigh. I had surgery yesterday It hurts bad but the morphine helps 😂. Doesn’t take all the pain away but definitely makes it more bearable Have I learned my lesson? Probably not 😂. The hospital and staff have been absolutely amazing. I’m going to miss them when I finally go home. Thanks to them and everyone here I have been battling good! I’m glad I found this site and I’m glad for all you people! Thank you all so extremely much!

hard time but manageable thanks to all you!
OH NO! I was so hopeful reading that you were starting to feel better, and then, BAM, broken leg!
I'm sorry you've had this setback! I hope your leg heals quickly!
OMGOSH It’s hard to get a “ break “ sometimes! SO sorry to hear about the injury and hoping that once you are all healed up you will be ready to tackle all the fuzzies! Glad you are getting good care 🍀🌼🌺
I am speechless. I was getting excited to hear that you're doing better, and then WHAM! At least you have some nice staff members to help you out. Hope you're feeling better soon!
Sorry about your fall, I hope you heal well. You might want to ask about a dexa scan to check for osteopenia or osteoporosis if it broke that easily. I asked for one after I broke my ankle and was told no need, then a few years later I broke my wrist and was again told no need and now I have been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis. Steroids can really mess with your bones🙁 I no longer accept being told no need when I ask for a certain test or lab, a little persistence is usually all that is needed and if they still dont agree, I will politely ask that they document in my chart that I requested it be done and that they refused to order it, works like a charm!
Thank you. I’m sorry to hear of your breaks and the responses of those who told you no need! Thanks for the advice!
Great advice, since most of us have had plenty of steroids. I recently found out I will need cataract surgery, and I'm only 58. My mom just had hers done, so I didn't think I would need to worry about it for a long time. The eye doctor said it's from steroids, so I should probably talk to my doctor about a bone scan.
yow!
Ouch! 😱 I'm happy you've seen the positives to this, no matter how much bad luck you've had 🤷♀️ wishing you as quick a recovery as your body can handle 🫂
Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. You're facing a struggle as your leg heals and you regain mobility, but we will be with you at every step (literal!) you take.
So sorry to hear about all of your recent experiences - I wish you the best with your recovery. Stay strong. We are rooting for you. 🙂👍
Prayers for your recovery. Good advice from starlight re osteoporosis. Was getting stronger bones(via dexa scans( & had about 6 doses steroids for various reasons including relapsed & got worse.
On a hood program now to rebuild. Again prayers for your recovery
What a frustrating setback. I hope all goes well now!
Bless your heart!! I hope you are home & feeling better soon. Prayers for you, Xvettech!
I really hope you heal up quickly!
If staff in the hospital are good, it's everything. I felt the same way when I got paralyzed from the waist down. When I came home from the hospital after 3 weeks I felt lonely!!
