On a whim, I asked my mother to get me a book light for Christmas, and I thought this one looked interesting. It has now become one of my medically-necessary items! Not only can I read comfortably from anywhere in my dimly-lit house, including propped up on pillows in bed, but I can wear it around the house when my hands are occupied and I can't carry a flashlight. It'll come in quite handy on those days when I need the rollator or even just carrying laundry into the cellar.
It's not heavy on the neck, the arms are nicely flexible, and the light is bright. Each arm has a separate button and 3 levels of brightness, so you can adjust it to suit your needs. The charger is identical to the one I use for my phone, and the initial charge took under 3 hours. I've now used it for 1-2 hours a day since Christmas and haven't needed to recharge it yet. Once I figure out how long the charge actually lasts, I plan to buy another one or two for myself and one for each member of my family. They also come in a variety of colors, if that matters to you.

lol. My daughter swears by that kind when taking her dog out at night. In fact, I got her a new one for Christmas! I tried one once and only managed to turn on the strobe light function. She took it away from me. 😬
They only run around $20, and it's definitely worth the price. Art, needlework, stamp collecting....I'm thinking anything that involves small parts or intricacy.
I have one that is a head lamp light I use for sewing on my machine when I need to use black or dark thread. I like the look of your light better. Where did she get it at?
Amazon. There's a couple different sellers, so you have to watch the price, but they all hover around $20-$22. I'd stick with this particular brand, though. So many of the others look like questionable imports. This one would probably work well for you, because you can move the arms independently and they stay where you put them. They don't actually bend, but you could still have one directed up and the other one down if you want.
Hubby bought me three of these. I’m glad I read your post. I have a friend who struggles with Parkinson’s and tend to fall at night on her way to the bathroom. I’ll give her one of these to grab as she needs something to see where she’s going without turning on a regular lamp. She has a hard time getting back to sleep after turning on a lamp.
